Oh, Jerusalem!

This morning we all had the opportunity to visit the Herzl Museum.  We heard all about Theodore Herzl and his quest for a Jewish State.  We then enjoyed a wonderful tour of the Knesset and sat in the same seat as the Prime Minister of Israel in the Jerusalem Room.  We continued our busy day with time at Har Herzl (Mt Herzl) which is the National Military Cemetery in Israel. Listening to the stories of fallen soldiers who fought so hard to keep their country safe & sound.  Hearing about Michael Levin (z"l) who made Aliyah and perished in the Second Lebanon War was truly inspiring as well as many other Israeli heroes such as Yoni Netanyahu, Ori Goodman, etc.  In addition, we heard about many Israel's finest such as Tedy Kolek, Yitzhak Rabin & Golda Meir.  We then headed to the Western Wall (kotel), where all of the students had the chance to read Kotel letters from home, experience it for the first time and even wrap t'fillin.  We finished the evening with a dynamic presentation by Neil Lazaros who keeps everyone entertained and provides such educational expertise on the Israel Update.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY from everyone on IST!!!
