Shabbat in Jerusalem

Our group is finally a Kehilah Kedoshah (holy community) after spending Shabbat together in Jerusalem.  We joined together in the hills outside Jerusalem at Ma'aleh Ha'hamisha  for a wonderful Shabbat service followed by a delicious dinner together celebrating all as one.  Afterward, we had Oneg Shabbat and played a few fun icebreaker games getting to know one another some more.  After a much needed long nights' rest and sleeping in, the students split into their bus groups to study in groups with their chevruta (study partner) and talk about the Torah portion of the week and learn a bit more on the geography of Israel. We enjoyed the afternoon relaxing, throwing the frisbee, at the pool and simply time together.  We finished the evening where everyone had the chance to shop and especially try their first Israeli falafel or shawarma!!  Mmmm...we sure do love hummus!!
